New Delhi: After Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri pointed out that ethanol is used even in racing cars and can improve acceleration, millions of Indian motorists reportedly developed a sudden interest in another aspect of motorsports:
The roads.
While the government expected a national debate on ethanol blending, mileage, and fuel efficiency, citizens had a completely different question for Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari:
“Sir, if we’re getting racing-car fuel, when are we getting racing-track roads?”
The demand gained momentum within hours.
Social media users flooded the internet with side-by-side photos of Formula 1 circuits and local roads after the monsoon, challenging experts to identify which one was designed for racing and which one was designed for survival.
